PU Grouting

The PU grouting waterproofing method (also known as polyurethane injection waterproofing) is a powerful solution to stop active water leakage, especially through cracks, joints, or porous concrete in basement walls/floors, ceiling slabs (e.g. bathroom leaks), and window or wall joints.

What is PU Grouting?

The treatment is a pressure injection method where liquid PU resin is injected into leaking cracks or voids. Upon contact with water, the PU expands and foams up to fill the void, sealing it permanently.

It is one of the most effective and widely used leak-stopping methods in Singapore due to its fast-acting, permanent, and non-invasive nature.

How PU Grouting Waterproofing is Done

Step 1

Leak Detection & Crack Identification

Contractors locate the source of the leak and identify all affected areas

Step 2

Drilling Injection Holes

Holes are drilled to provide access points to inject the PU grout into the cracks

Step 3

Install Injection Packers

Injection ports are installed in the drilled holes, which serve as sealed access points for injecting PU under pressure

Step 4

Inject PU Grout

Liquid polyurethane resin is injected via pump into the packers

Step 5

Curing and Cleanup

  • The PU grout cures and hardens in 30 minutes to several hours, depending on type
  • Packers are removed, holes are patched with cementitious mortar
