Balcony Waterproofing
As an exposed, external structure, the balcony area is one of the most vulnerable and prone to water leakage. Balcony waterproofing is essential to prevent water leakage into your unit or the unit below, protect concrete structures, and maintain property value. Poor balcony waterproofing can lead to ceiling stains, mould, and tile delamination.

Common Balcony Leakage Problems
Cause | Description |
---|---|
Cracked tiles or grout | Allows water to seep under tiles |
Poor slope or ponding | Water pools near the wall or edge |
Failed waterproofing membrane | Usually due to aging (10+ years) or improper installation |
Movement cracks | Caused by thermal expansion or structural shifts |
Weak joint sealing (e.g. wall-floor junction) | Water enters through unsealed tile joints or corners |
Our Solution
For tiled balconies, we use Infusion Treatment to rectify the leakage. The treatment does not require hacking the tiles, and the treated area should be left unused for 24 hours.
For concrete-surface balconies, 5WP is recommended. Any timber decking should be removed prior to the treatment. Curing time is usually 3-4 hours depending on the weather.
