Deck Area Waterproofing
A deck area is a flat walking deck built above an occupied living space or a roof deck that extends out over an outdoor living space. Waterproofing deck areas is critical to prevent water leakage, concrete damage, and mould growth, especially for rooftop decks, pool decks, balconies, planter boxes, or outdoor timber/plank decks. Proper deck waterproofing also prolongs the lifespan of the surface and protects structures below (e.g. rooms, car porches, ceilings).

Common Deck Area Leakage Problems
Cause | Description |
---|---|
Concrete/tiled decks | Leaks through grout/tile cracks, membrane failure |
Timber or WPC decks | Rot, mould, swelling if poorly sealed |
Rooftop decks | Water seepage into slab below, UV degradation |
Pool/planter decks | Continuous water exposure, root intrusion, algae growth |
Our Solution
5WP is the standard method to waterproof deck area since it is an exposed concrete surface. If the area has timber decking, we recommend homeowners to remove the timber decking prior to the treatment and put it back afterwards.
